Hi, could you please tell me about the duties and responsibilities of Forest Guard and how can I become a Forest Ranger in Karnataka? Any special course required or any entrance is needed?

Educational criteria:
* Contenders must have passed the 12th standard or II-PUC to apply for KFD Forest Guard Posts 2019, and Deputy Range Forest Officer posts candidates must have done Sc or B.Sc in Forestry stream.

Age criteria:
For Forest Guard: – 18 years to 25 years
For Deputy Range Forest Officer: – 18 years to 27 years
Age relaxation will be applicable according to the rules

Selection criteria:
Written examination
Physical Standard Test {PST}
Physical Endurance Test {PET}
Personal Interview

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Forest guard works as a security guard for the animals and plants. He does everything to save animals and plants. illegal plant cutting and killing of endangered animals is taking place that's why govt. appoints a guard for the security of forests.
* Forest guard as the words imply guards the forest against smugglers, intruders, forest fire, and grazing animals, he reports to the forest officer, or bear officer.

Is Forest Guard a panacea to insurgency?
