Sir, I took admission in CA CPT in the year 2008 but, till now I have not appeared for CPT exam even once. Is my registration still valid? For how many years does it remains valid? Do I need to re-register?

CA CPT registration is valid for 3 years only. Since, you have done registration in 2008, so now its validity had been expired.

You must re-register for CA CPT because your initial registration is no longer valid.
