What rank would you get depends on how many students have score more than 486 marks in the Kerala Engineering and how many candidates have appeared in the Kerala Engineering Entrance examination.

There isn't any mandate that by scoring 486 a certain rank has to be awarded every year to a certain candidate.
Hence, keep your fingers crossed and believe in me if not among the top 500, but it will certainly be a good rank which will get you a seat in engineering colleges.
