The principle of working is as follows -
there are 2 D shaped electrodes.A high frequency alternating voltage is applied between these 2 electrodes is used to accelerate the charged particles Also a static magnetic field is applied in a perpendicular direction The cyclotron resonance frequency is given by - f=qB/2pi*m (you must have done the derivation otherwise equate lorentz and centripetal force) and then the paritcles travel in a spiral path and leave. |
