How can I pursue M.A English private? Do I need to attempt any entrance exam for it? Is it possible to do M.A English private in Amritsar? Will M.A English private be eligible for school jobs in Amritsar?

In Amritsar, Colleges offering M.A (English) are affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU). So, You need to apply and appear GNDU entrance exam for admission to M.A (English) course. After M.A (English), you can't teach without B.Ed qualification, but can go for private coaching to teach english subject. After M.A (English), you can become a lecturer in english subject after clearing UGC-NET. After M.A (English), you can pursue B.Ed course and can become a school teacher after clearing CTET.

GNDU M.A.(English) Eligibility
You must have passed B.A.(English) with at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST candidates) OR any other bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university.

- Comprehension of a prose passage OR Comprehension of a short poem - 25 Marks
- Vocabulary - 15 Marks
- Rewriting the sentences as instructed - 20 Marks
- Common literacy terms : meaning & explanation - 20 Marks
