Annie Besant was the first woman President of Indian National Congress. She was presided in 1917. She was of Irish origin and was one of the few foreigners who played a significant role in the Indian freedom movement.
Other some women president of national congress are- Sarojini Naidu in 1925 Nellie Sengupta in 1933 |

 Dr. Annie Besant(1st october 1847 to 20th september 1933) is the first women president of the national congress. She is a socialist, writer and orator. She was elected in the year 1917. She has a supporter of Irish and played a prominant role in indian freedom movement.
