i am studing msc maths. If i get posting as an irs officer after clearing civil service exam during my study, can i extendmy posting as an irs officer to one year?

Yes, you can take one year time to join the service. Candidates are given the choice to take a gap year.

For that you will have to give the information to the concerned office regarding your choice.
