IES refers to Indian Economic Services and for appearing in the IES examination the minimum education required is a Post-graduate Degree in Economics or Applied Economics or Econometrics or Business Economics or equivalent from a recognized University.

So, being a MA in Public Policy degree holder which is not related to Postgraduate degree in Economics, you are not eligible for appearing in IES examination.

For complete details regarding the IES examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in.
