Re: How is the age calculated for appearing in UPSC?
You should know that UPSC conduct many exams for different posts & departments. One of the best exams which UPSC conduct is a Civil Service Exam & every year lacs of candidates applies for this. Minimum age is 21 years & maximum age is 32 years. If the date of birth is 1.10.1984 then a candidate has completed 30 years & its up to the UPSC when they will conduct exam in 2017. As per the age criteria a candidate can apply as the maximum age limit is 32 years. Apart from that OBC category candidates gets age relaxation of 3 years means can apply till the age of 35 years.

Re: How is the age calculated for appearing in UPSC?
UPSC calculates age as on 1st August of the year in which the exam is conducted. So, for the 2020 civil services exam, you should be above 21 years of age as on 1st August 2020. Even the upper age is calculated as on 1st August. So, you should not be more than 32 years as on 1st August 2020.
