I want to prepare for CDS exam and i don't have any knowledge that how to prepare and what to prepare and plz tell what is the best book for preparing it?

You have to go through the syllabus and previous year question paper to get fair idea with respect to examination pattern of the examination.

You can get the syllabus about examination from official website of UPSC i.e - www.upsc.gov.in.

Recommended Books are :-
NCERT ( History, Geography ).

Laxmikanth ( Indian Polity ).

Newspaper ( For current affairs ).

Examination also consists paper of English and Mathematics. Mathematics will be of std 11th and 12th. For more information about the examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

CDS examination is conducted in two stages.

Stage I - Written ( three papers - English, General Awareness, Mathematics ).

Stage II - SSB.

Mandatory to qualify in both the stages for the final selection.

For English you can take help of any grammar books, General Awareness - NCERTs books of Science and social studies and for mathematics - std 9th and 10th NCERTs ).

CDS is Combined Defence Service. The examination is conducted by UPSC. It is conducted twice in a year.

The written examination consists of three papers. So, you need to prepare for the each paper separately.
