Is it possible to become a Radio officer Investigator?


I'm a BE graduate from chennai..is it possible for me to become a radio officer ..what are all the procedures? Kindly reply me.

Education qualification:-
The minimum educational qualifications for pursuing a Marine Radio Officer course the aspirant should be at least plus 2 or equivalent with preferably science subjects such as physics, chemistry and mathematics.


The candidate must attended the age of 17 years on 1st July of the year of examination. The upper age limit is also relaxed in favour of certain categories of employees working under the Government of India and Defence Services.

Physical Standard:-

The minimum height should be 150 cms with correlated weight and proportionate chest with minimum 5 - cm expansion.

He should also pass a medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no colour blindness.

The basic eligibility criteria required to apply for Radio Officer Investigator recruitment is given below,

Name of the Job position- Radio Officer

>> You should have completed Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electronics and Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or institute to be eligible.

>> Or Candidates from Master's Degree in Physics or applied physics in Wireless communication from a recognized institute.

>> Candidates having practical experience in Electronics or Radio Communication Technology to be eligible.

To become a Radio Officer Investigator the minimum educational qualification required is a candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with preferably science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board. The candidate minimum age should be 17 years as of 1st July of the year of examination and the minimum height of the candidate should be 150 cm. A candidate should also pass the medical fitness test for sea service under standard norms and with eyesight 6/6 with no color blindness.

In India , besides becoming a radio officer one also requires Ham (Amateur) Radio licence or a marine Radio permit .
Candidate must have passed 12th or equivalent exam with preferable science subject .

Chemistry and maths are preferable subject , after which a candidate has to appear in Marine Radio Officer courses such as ROGC , COP, RITM and others.

These exams are conducted by the Ministry of Communication , Govt of India.

The minimum height of a candidate should be 150 cm with 6/6 eyesight with no color blindness.
