Whether reading newspapers and watching news helps me to prepare for GK and Current Affairs sections of WBCS exams?

Sir,
Can you tell me how to come across
the GK and Current Affairs sections of WBCS exams?
Will only Newspaper reading and TV news will do?
Please help me to know about this.

If you read newspaper everyday & watching news carefully will definitely improve your general awareness. Apart from that buy Manorma Year book & Pratoyogita darpan (Every Month). While reading you have to understand many points & remember everything especially International news. Write important dates in your note book or diary for future reference. Focus more on International news, Politics as well as Economy.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
