The only idea behind reading news paper is to keep yourself updated with the things going around you in the world.

You need to prepare current affairs, current events and analysis, manorama year books etc.

Apart from this you should have minimum knowledge of History. Its very important that, you should remember few events and their dates because, these are the only topics which are stressed more.

Its also better if you prepare with Indian Social Systems and Public Administration. These will also help you in getting a good score.
