Will height be a hurdle to become an IPS officer after clearing prelims?
My height is 164 cm and i want to join ips. I have already cleared prelims. So i want to know if this height can become a hurdle for me in becoming an IPS officer?

Yes, height can be hurdle to become an IPS officer after clearing preliminary examination.
Height of candidate required for IPS examination : For Male candidate : General and OBC Candidates : 165 cms SC/ST Candidates : 160 cms Hillman : 163 cms For Female candidates : General and OBC Candidates : 157 cms SC/ST Candidates : 152 cms Hillman : 155 cms |

Yes, height might be a problematic issue during the selection of your rounds. The basic height for Male Candidates is set at 165 cms, however as your height is just a cm below, I think the might consider it, but there is no surety for it.
You might face problem regarding it, unless and until you fall under SC/ST category as the minimum required for SC/SD candidates is set at 160 cms. |
