Sir,
I am doing B.Tech 1st year in Electronics
and Communication Engineering.
I want to change my stream.
So is this possible for me?
I can chance my stream or not?

* Yes, the students can change the branch after completion of B.Tech 1st Year. The change of the branch can be done only if the institution/University permits.

* The University will considered for the change of branch only if the student have completed all the credit prescribed in first year of their first attempt with out having any backlogs.

* The candidate will be considered only if he obtained a CGPA not less than 8.5, at the end of the first Year.

* If once the change of branch was done than it will be final. There is no chance to refuse the change of branch or no chance to change the branch in future.

Yes, it is possible for you, to change the specialization. But, you have to follow so many procedures to change the specialization. First, you should make that in which specialization you are interested to change. Once, you select the Specialization contact your Department HOD or Vice principal. It is mandatory that should give a Letter and valid reason for changing the specialization. If your reason is accepted then you can change your specialization.

Note: It is possible only based on availability of seat in the department, which you are interested to join.

First of all, be sure that you want to change the stream or not and which stream appeals you.

It has been seen that, many students are confused in the first year about the streams, so be clear in that first because, ECE is a very good stream for Engineering.

Now if you really want to change the stream then it can be done through either Sliding or Swapping Procedure.

* At the time of Admission, many seats of an institute remain vacant and the students who score high in the semester exams are given the benefits to reconsider the streams. If they want to change it, they are allowed. This is called Sliding.

* In Swapping process, you need to find a mate in the stream you want to get into to swap your seat with him.

Basically with the consent of both the students, the college allows the swap their seats.

Hi yes friend you change your specialisation being in first year engineering.in first we have all common subjects for all.while comes to second year we have to do as per ones specialisation. So you have the option.its not too late.yes you can ..you need to approach to the concern authority and make specialisation change. Good luck

Yes,it is possible to change the stream if studying B.Tech (ECE) 1st year.
ECE is the top branch in B.Tech.
If you are not interested in the ECE if the 2nd counselling dates are available then you can apply for the 2nd counselling.
If the counselling dates are not available then the you have to complete your 1st year with good CGPA without any backlogs.
But,you should think what's the reason for changing the branch properly.
In first year for all groups same subjects will be taught.
after 1st year keep a letter for the college administration with proper reason and get your branch changed.It is possible if the seats are available otherwise you have to continue in the same branch.
