The Horanada Kannadiga (HK) scheme is a special quota system for admission to professional courses in Karnataka through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test). The scheme is designed to benefit the children of Kannadigas living outside Karnataka who have studied and passed their qualifying exams outside Karnataka.

Under the Horanada Kannadiga scheme of KCET, 50% of seats in engineering, medical, dental, and other professional courses are reserved for candidates who are eligible under this scheme. However, candidates under this scheme must meet the eligibility criteria set by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), including qualifying marks in KCET.

The syllabus for KCET includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology based on the first and second-year syllabus of the Karnataka Pre-University Course (PUC) Board. The questions in the KCET exam will be based on these subjects, and candidates will have to answer multiple-choice questions within a time limit of 80 minutes for each subject.
