What does it mean by Government Recognized University?


Respected Sir, Please let me know, what does it mean by Government Recognized University? Is Recognized University and Government Recognized University the same things? Please answer as soon as possible.

The meaning of Government Recognised university indicates that whether the university is recognised by Central or State Government or by any statutory bodies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), University Grants Commission (UGC), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), etc.,.

UGC is a government organisation and if a university is recognized by UGC, then it is called as government recognized university. Also, there are universities which are funded by central or state government, which are also known as central or state government universities.

Hence, if you are pursuing a course from an UGC recognized university, then it will be surely recognized by the government for various jobs in public sector, provided you meet the other criteria.

For west bengal govt Job When it is written that "graduate from university recorginise by govt of west Bengal" if a person is passout from central government university is he eligible for the post???
