Hi, I am interested to apply for UGC NET to secure PhD admission. But I don't know about the age limit to apply for this eligibility test. Please let me know about the age limit asap.

Age limit to apply for UGC NET 2020 are as follows:-

Assistant Professorship:-
There is no age limit for UGC NET Assistant Professorship.

Junior Research Fellowship:-
The upper age limit is 30 years as on June 1,2020.
Relaxation is provided to reserved category candidates as per government of India norms.

Age limit to apply for UGC NET 2020:-

The minimum eligible age limit by the exam authorities has been set to 28 years for general category.
A relaxation of 5 years is given to the candidates from reserved categories.
No maximum age limit is prescribed for lectureship for Assistant Professor.
For Junior Research Fellowship, the maximum age limit will be 30 years as on 1st January 2020.
The LLM degree holder gets a relaxation of 3 years for Assistant Professor, there are no age limit prescribed .
For other gender candidates, relaxation in fees, age and qualifying criteria for NET is at par with SC /ST and other categories.

There is no age restriction to appear in UGC NET for Assistant Professor, but if you want to apply for JRF than your age should be 30 years or less.

There is no age limit for the position of Assistant professor. However, in cas of JRF the age of the applicant must not be more than 30 years as on January 1,2020. 5 years of relaxation is given to reserved candidates.

For LLM Degree possessing candidates, 3 years of age relaxation will be given.

There is no age limit to apply for UGC NET (National Eligibility Test) 2020 for Assistant Professor and PHD admissions while in case of JRFs (Junior Research Fellowships) it is 30 years in case of general category candidates with age relaxation applicable for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.
