Am I eligible to study Ph.D if completed Master in Personnel Management and working in Education sector?

Hello
I am MPM- Masters in Personnel Management passed from Pune University and have been working in education sector for last 2 years.
I want to pursue Research work in Education sector, & I need to know what options I have..
My interest is doing research on Impact of Indian education system in rural areas. So does it come under Education or development studies??
With my MPM degree can i apply for PhD??

Am really confused with different eligibility criteria?
Please help me out with this.
Thanks..

Yes, you are eligible for Ph.D course but you should qualify in UGC NET exam.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted twice time in year by UGC.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for NET exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Age criteria for NET exam:-

For JRF Post :-Your age should be below 28 years.

For Lectureship Post :-There is no age criteria.

For more details about NET exam click on the official link http://www.ugc.ac.in
