Hi friends, I am looking forward to join Panjab University for PhD in Indian Theatre course. But I don't know about the course duration as well as the course structure. Can you please let me know about the course duration and course structure immediately?

The duration of Ph.D. (Indian Theatre) at Panjab University is two years.

The course structure is divided into theoretical and practical sessions.

Theory:-

The history of theatre and representative plays from Indian and Western dramatic literature are covered in great depth. Emphasis is put on understanding local theatre traditions and utilizing them creatively in contemporary settings.

Practical:-

An essential component of the practical training is acting, movement, voice, production, speech, singing, improvisation, theatre games, yoga, mime, text-study style, character-building, stage make-up, and the use and control of imagination. The teaching of stage lighting, set, and costume design is done practically.

The duration of PhD (Indian Theatre) is 3years.

The course structure and duration of PhD(Indian Theatre) in Panjab University is as follows:

Course Structure:

The PhD(Indian Theatre) program at Panjab University is a three-year full-time program. The program consists of the following components:

* Coursework: The coursework component consists of 12 credits of compulsory courses and 6 credits of elective courses. The compulsory courses cover the following areas:
* History of Indian Theatre
* Theory of Indian Theatre
* Aesthetics of Indian Theatre
* Performance Practice in Indian Theatre
* Research Methodology
* Research Project: The research project component consists of a dissertation on a topic related to Indian Theatre. The dissertation must be a minimum of 80,000 words in length.
* Viva-Voce Examination: The viva-voce examination is a final oral examination of the dissertation. The viva-voce examination is conducted by a panel of three examiners.

Duration:

The PhD(Indian Theatre) program at Panjab University is a three-year full-time program. However, the program may be extended to a maximum of six years.

Eligibility Criteria:

The following are the eligibility criteria for the PhD(Indian Theatre) program at Panjab University:

Course structure and duration of PhD(Indian Theatre) in Panjab University?

The Ph. D. in Drama & Theater course is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years in duration. Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the same Institution

1. The Ph. D. in Drama & Theater course is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 5 years in duration.

2. Admission to this course is based on the entrance test that is done by the university itself or any other national level entrance test.

3. There is no age limit to do this course.
