Should I have to do M.Tech to study PhD being a B.Tech candidate? Specializations available to study in PhD?


Hello,
I am a B.Tech student and I am aspire to do PhD course. I want to know that for doing PhD I have to do M.Tech first? If yes, then what are the specializations available in PhD for B.Tech candidate?

Yes, after completion of B.Tech degree you can do M.Tech degree for doing Ph.D course.

After completion of M.Tech degree you should qualify in GATE exam for Ph.D course.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

If you have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department then you are eligible for GATE exam.

There are no restriction for attempts in GATE exam. You can apply any number of time. There is no age criteria but your minimum age must be above 18 years.
