Should I have to study M.Phil after M.Sc if want to pursue PhD in Economics?


hello sir
i want to do phd course in economics
from calcutta university as m doing msc in economics
so i am eligible for admission after msc or i have to
do mphill also???? please tell me about this

No need to study M.Phil if you want to get admission in a Ph.D program. But you need to qualify some exams with merit then only you will become eligible for Ph.D admission after Master's degree. Also, make sure that you have got at least 55% marks in your Master's degree as this is the minimum requirement for Ph.D admission.

You must qualify exams like NET/SLET/JRF to become eligible for Ph.D admission in top Universities. Most of the top colleges give admission only to those who have qualified NET/SLET/JRF. There are Ph.D entrance exams also there for admission if you want to get admission after Master's degree.
