Can I do M.phil in sociology after geography masters?


Hello, i did my masters in geography, now i am going to give entrance for m.phil in sociology. I wanted to ask that can i get admission in sociology for m.phil.

The basic eligibility criteria required to study M.Phil in Sociology course is given below,

Name of the Course- M.Phil in Sociology

>> Candidates must have completed Master's Degree in Sociology from a recognized university or institute preferably.

>> Also Master's in Geography is also equivalent to this discipline I can say that you are certainly eligible to study this course.

>> The eligibility criteria required generally varies from college to college or University. Hence,you may please contact that concerned college for getting admission details.

The minimum educational qualification to study MPhil in Sociology is a candidate must have passed a Master's degree in Sociology or equivalent from a recognized university. Some universities also give admission to those who have done their master's in social studies or history. Admission selection is done on the basis of performance in the entrance examination which is conducted by the university.

In order to be eligible for the course, candidate must have master's degree in relevant subject or equivalent from a recognised board.

Age and aggregate requirements vary from college to college.

There is a common entrance exam for M.phil on the basis of which students are admitted .
Some colleges organise their own eligibility test .

Can I do M.phil in sociology after geography masters?

Master of Philosophy in Sociology admission is offered to only those students who meet the eligibility requirements.

The candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy or Sociology with a minimum 50% aggregate score in the final examination and Philosophy as a core subject. There is no age limit for the course.
