GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is one of the toughest exams for engineering discipline. You want to know that whether previous 10 year question are sufficient for GATE qualifying or not.

>>One thing I want to clear that the questions asked in this exam are different every year.

>>But when you prepare your core subjects and solve previous 10 year question paper it will help a lot in boosting your score.

>>It might be possible that the formulas used in solving some questions are same as it was used in solving previous year paper. So you can do one thing solve previous year question, analyze the question pattern and note down the formula used in it. It will help you lot when you do revision.

>>After qualifying the GATE exam, the M.Tech Colleges are assigned on the basis of GATE score. If you score good score in the exam then you can apply for the CCMT online counseling. Based on your GATE score, you will allot the college. You can apply for some other colleges such as VIT, SRM, IPU etc.

There is no central counseling for GATE. You need to apply to individual colleges separately after GATE results based on your GATE score. Higher the GATE score, better the chances of getting into a good institute. The colleges will shortlist the better candidates with highest marks and call for interview and/or counselling. Each college calls separately and some dates may even clash where you will miss.

Regarding preparation, having good concepts and thorough study of course books is sufficient. Practice few papers and then one is good to go.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
