How to join merchant navy after B.com.

After completing your bachelor's degree and before joining as a cadet, you must undergo pre-sea training for one year at Maritime Training Institute. Upon completing this compulsory training, candidates applying for cadet profile will work on the ships and complete 18 months of training.

1. You can join the merchant navy as a cadet or engineer, depending upon your educational qualification.

2. With years of experience and relevant sea time, you can progress in your career.

3. For example, you may join as a junior engineer with an engineering degree and later become a fourth, third, second and chief engineer.
