Taking up the degree course after 10+2 is actually related with your stream which you have taken in your 10+2. There are three major fields that can be selected for your college course which as follows,

-> Arts

-> Engineering

-> Medical

Now if you have opted for PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) stream in 10+2 then you can take up the medical course like M.B.B.S, B.D.S etc and also can apply for all the Engineering courses.. if you have selected PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) then you can apply for all the Engineering courses and if you have taken Commerce or Economics then you can apply for the Arts course.

I have attached the career path picture in this post for your reference which will provide the information about all the courses and possibilities of setting up the career. Just go through it and take the decision.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
