The paper has two parts, Part A contains 40 marks, and the student must answer 5 questions of eight marks each. The Part B contains 60 marks and the candidate has to answer 4 questions of 15 marks each. There are a lot of choices in the paper. The important questions from Part A are: define Accounting and the objectives of Accounting, what is a Trial Balance and what are the possible errors that can occur in it, distinguish between Receipts and Payments Account and Income and Expenditure Account, what are the different methods adopted for recording the transactions of Joint Venture, what is a statement of affairs and how does it differ from Balance Sheet, explain in brief the procedures and objects of self-balancing, what is an accommodation bill and what are its advantages. Section B has mostly application based questions such as the preparation of Balance Sheet from details of transactions given, preparation of bought ledger adjustment account and general ledger adjustment account based on transaction details and entering transactions in various kinds of account books.
