All students have to attempt question 1 which is compulsory and then choose 5 questions from the remaining 6. The paper carries 70 marks and the time allotted is three hours. All questions contain smaller subparts and thus the answers must be brief and precise. Some of the important questions are: draw small signal hybrid model of an n-channel FET, write down two salient features of a voltage series feedback, what is the roll-off factor in a Bode plot, prove that in a constant current source circuit current is a constant, write down two advantages of a push-pull power amplifier, what are the minimum values of gain in an inverting and non-inverting amplifier, draw to scale the output waveform of an integrator when a square waveform of plus/minus 2V is applied to its input, and derive the formula used. All questions contain mathematical applications and derivations of the various theories.
