The whole subject of Information Technology is based on the concepts and basic means of transferring information on a horizontal level. The Client Server relation is further based on the understanding of integral technicalities and hence should be analysed carefully after learning the fundamental things about the network of client and servers. Some of the topics taught in this course are myths and obstacles in client server computing, client role and functions, hardware and software trends in evolution of client server computing, X window system, different categories of server, bench marks used to compare the server hardware, different data management and access tools, real ability backup and recovery mechanism, LAN characteristics and components, layers, inter-faces and protocols, future trends in client server computing, detailed overview of client server applications, features that a server machine should support, chief features of a Network Management Standards, network operating system in details, open systems and open system standards.
