Radar and navigational aids papers is a vital part of the curriculum of IETE AMIETE ET and one must pay special attention to this subject. One might feel that questions are all from the syllabus itself but a grasp or rather good grasp of the subject is needed to answer them. One has to answer the first question that is multiple choices in 45 minutes that carries 20 marks. There are 8 more questions where from one can choose 5 most appropriate and answer those. Each carries 16 marks and are subjective questions. Altogether the paper holds 100 marks and time you get to solve is 3 hours. One must know radar system loss as well as behavior of the cross section of radar along with Doppler frequency shift. Having knowledge of the MTI radar will hold you in good stead. Questions on Frequency bands used for radar system, LORAN Navigation System, Radar receiver detectors, Doppler Frequency shift, Radar Antenna, Pulse Radar etc. are also there.
