One of the best institutes for pursuing JRF is psychology is Indian Statistical Institute. The candidate should be M.Sc./M.A in Psychology/Applied Psychology with a decent academic record. Written Tests, academic record and interviews taken by the institutes forms the basis for choosing the candidates. The total duration of JRF and SRF does not exceed five years. Basically two tests each of two hours and hundred marks are held. The first test is on Research methodology and the second is psychology. I have a small query, in terms of whether one needs to have qualified the NET exam prior to applying for the ISI JRF and what are the fields in which the awarded scholars work?

I am a Masters student at TISS, Mumbai, completing my degree in Counselling Psychology this coming year!

Does one apply for this JRF at ISI at the same time as the applications come out for the other courses? LIke in March 2012 for the following year?
