The questions paper is divided into three sections. The first section has purely objective questions in the form of fill-in-the-blanks questions and very short questions having ten marks; the second section has short answer type questions, there are five questions and each question carries 3 marks. The third section is essay and descriptive question based, each question carries 5 marks and 15 questions have to be answered. In the first section, the important questions are definitions of engineering, surveying, Reinforced Cement Concrete, King Closer, use of parapet, major components of a building etc. the important topics of the second section are requirements of foundation, stages of water treatment, various component parts of a bridge, functions of a harbor etc. In the third section, the descriptive questions that are common are methods of valuation, methods of seasoning, role and functions of WBM Road and Bituminous Roads, drawing and explaining the construction and function of septic tank and solid waste disposal etc.
