The question paper is divided into three broad sections. The first section consists of objective type questions, ten questions in all carrying one mark each. The second section has short descriptive questions of three marks each, the section has 15 marks. The last section contains 15 questions of 5 marks each. All questions are compulsory and the total marks of the paper are 100. The questions are theoretical as well as mathematical applications. In the first section the important questions are: write the decimal number -39 as an 8 bit number in sign magnitude form, what is the basic function of a comparator, what is the bit capacity of a memory that can store 256 bytes of data. In the second section some of the important questions are draw the logic diagram of a Binary to gray code converters using EX-OR gates, draw the block diagram and the truth table of a 2 bit asynchronous binary counter, how are read and write operations of RAM performed. Important questions from the third section are describe the basic function of a SR and JK edge triggered flip flops with logic diagrams and truth table, list the main steps involved in synthesis of synchronous sequential circuits.
