It includes measurements and instrumentation of transducers, calibration methods, statistical methods, characteristics (static – accuracy, precision, resolution, sensitivity, linearity), (dynamic – mathematical models), I, II, and III order transducers, response to impulse, variable resistance transducers (operation principle, construction, characteristics, application, resistance thermometer, thermistor, humidity sensor), variable inductance and variable capacitance transducers (induction potentiometer, EI pick up, LVDT, capacitor microphone), other types of transducers (piezoelectric, magnetostrictive, digitals, smart sensor, fibre optic transducer)

Paper Pattern: 3rd Semester paper of Instrumentation Engineering on Principles of Sensors and Transducers will have two sections. With 3 questions to go for in each section, you have the option to choose from “either do this or do that”. One question in each of the section will hold 16 marks and the rest will carry 17 marks each.

Key Points: Questions will be framed as per the syllabus. Neat diagrams and figures should be used wherever required.
