Orthodontics is Branch V in M.D.S Degree course of Tamil Nadu M.G.R. University. It has a paper on Growth and Development, Basics in Orthodontics, Diagnosis and Radiology (Paper II). The question paper of this three hour exam consists of 10 questions, all essay types. All of these questions hold 10 marks. The time that can be spent on each question is 18 minutes, and the maximum number of pages in which the question can be answered is 6. This is as per the new pattern of 2011. Prior to that, there were two parts in the question paper, carrying 40 and 60 marks respectively. The typical topics from where questions are asked are Functional Matrix theory, Dentition, Occlusion, embryological disorders, hormones, joints, facial symmetry and other such related things. The paper requires deep understanding of the topics, and thus students should study the entire syllabus thoroughly. No part of the syllabus should be left, as questions can be asked from anywhere in the syllabus. Below are attached some of the previous year’s question papers.
