The subject of Western Political Thoughts makes the students aware of the different ideologies prevalent in the west, and also the ideologies that have their origins in the western world. The subject contains the ideologies of Plato, Aristotle, Hobbes, Karl Marx and other such political ideologist. The subject also deals with the different theories of political science like socialism, communism and capitalism. The questions are asked mainly from topics like Aristotle’s views on governments and constitution, the different causes of disorder and revolt, secular thinking, capitalism, education, the views and works of Machiavelli, works of Hobbes etc. The paper is of 50 marks and consists of 3 questions, one of ten marks and two of twenty each. Students have to take the exam in two hours. Short notes are also asked in the paper which makes scoring good marks easy. Going through the entire syllabus is very necessary to answer all the questions of the paper.
