My twin daughters DOB is 27th Oct.,2013, though their EDD was Dec.2013 both were premature child. Are they eligible for admission in Junior K.G class in CBSE or GSEB for year June 2017 -18

Age criteria:

1. From the next academic year, schools will admit students to Class 1 who are at least six years old as of June 1, 2023.

2. Earlier, the minimum age for admission was 5 years.

The right age for students to join play-school is 2.5 to 3 years. In general, each state has a different minimum age requirement. For example, Karnataka has 3.5 years and Madhya Pradesh has to complete 4 years before entering LKG.

The age criteria for for pre-schools is 1.5-2.5 years for pre-nursery is 2.5-3.5 years , for nursery class is 3.5-4.5 years for LKG and 4.5-5.5 years for UKG.

The age is calculated from the date of birth. Even though they are pre mature child still their age will be calculated from their date of birth i.e, 27th October 2013.
