My daughter is born on 5th April. She is pursuing her nursery in one of the schools in Delhi this session. We are now moving to gurgaon and there the entry criteria for admission to kg class is 4.5 to 5.5 years. They are not allowing my daughter to go to kg, rather are advising to admit her in nursery again in next session.
There are some exceptional schools which are allowing her to get promoted to kg next year but the challenge is that then she will probably be the youngest child in the class. That may impact her competitive skills.
Can someone please advise what should we be doing?

Age Criteria:

1. However, some schools in Delhi are very stringent with the age factor and ensure class 1 admissions are approved only when the child reaches the eligible age.

2. Children should complete 5 years by 31st March of the same year to get admission in 1st std.

The Upper age limit for nursery, KG, and Class 1, admissions are 4, 5, and 6 years, respectively. The lower age limit for admission in these classes is 3, 4, and 5 years, respectively, as of March 31, 2023. Application forms will be available at schools till the last date of registration at a fee of Rs 25.

The age criteria for Nursery students in schools of Delhi should be 3 to 5 years.
