My son is going to appear hus 10 th ICSE exam in FEB 2014. He want to take medical or engineering degree in future. Which board he should take for 11 & 12 ( for entrance exam in today's competition & current rules ) ISC OR CBSE OR HSC ?

1. More students be opting for CBSE compared to ISC, but as a percentage, ISC students were doing equally well. In language courses, ISC students are much better, while in science subjects, students of both boards are more or less the same.

2. HSC students are expected to memorise answers word to word whereas correctors in ISC are more flexible.

3. CBSE board is national level board with highest number of students.

CBSE should be the board preferred to study along with NEET.

It's because CBSE is not that tough, you get enough time to prepare both for boards as well as enterance exams.

CBSE is more scientific and mathematics oriented, with a strong emphasis on knowledge application. In contrast, CISCE (ICSE) is more balanced, with equal emphasis on language, arts, and science. On the other hand, in terms of competitive exams, an ICSC student will have an advantage over an HSC student.
Thus, the choice of candidates is entirely dependent upon their needs.

You can choose CBSE board because CBSE is considered as the most common and most recognized board in India today. When it comes to standardizing a General Education Board for most schools in the country, CBSE has achieved it.

CBSE is the best option. This is because of the following reasons.

There is no need to take up second language in CBSE which is present in other boards of education.

The syllabus of core subjects is at par with that of entrance exam's syllabus.

The standard of English is not high which will enable you to devote more time on core subjects and prepare well of your entrance exams.

The syllabus of core subjects of all boards of education are more or less same. It may differ by about 20%.

You can choose the board as per your requirements and choose what you want to do next. If you can handle a lot of study pressure you can then choose ISC or CBSE, well HSC is less tough. CBSE is a good choice because it is beneficial for all competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, SAT, and all other government job examinations. You can choose the board as per your future career requirement.

The CBSE emphasizes the importance of the application of knowledge and is more scientific and mathematically oriented.
By placing equal emphasis on language, the arts, and science, CISCE (ICSE) is more evenly distributed.
However, ICSC students will have a benefit over HSC students in competitive exams.
Therefore, the selection of candidates what to study is solely based on their interest in subjects.
