Re: Subjects to choose in intermediate for IPS officer
Sorry, to appear for Civil Services entrance examination ( for recruitment as I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S etc.) there is nothing to do with stream of 10+2. So, you are eligible to select any course.
The eligibility to appear for entrance examination is :- Candidate must have passed bachelor degree from any recognised university. Candidates passed degree in any discipline and with minimum passing marks. Candidate's age must be between 21-32 years and relaxation for reserved category. So, you can pursue any stream in 10+2 as per your choice and even in bachelor degree. For more information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in. |

Re: Subjects to choose in intermediate for IPS officer
As far as eligibility criteria is concerned there isn't any specific stream required for IPS officer exam. You can opt for any stream according to your choice. If possible look at the syllabus of exam and opt according to it.
In the end you have to prepare according to syllabus of civil services exam. Any qualification will just fulfill the eligibility criteria for the exam. |

Re: Subjects to choose in intermediate for IPS officer
There is no need to opt or study any particular subject in Intermediate to become an IPS officer. Candidates who have passed Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university are eligible to apply for IPS examination. So, I suggest you to pursue any course of your interest and after completion of your Graduation course, you can apply for IPS examination.

Re: Subjects to choose in intermediate for IPS officer
You can opt for any stream either science or arts or commerce in 10+2 according to your interest in that stream. Entrance examination for Indian Police Services is Civil Services examination. Civil Services examination do not require any particular subject specialization.
Eligibility criteria for Civil Services examination: 1. Graduates from any discipline are eligible to apply for Civil Services. 2. Age limit is 21-32 years. In bachelor's degree, you must opt for that subject which you would like to take as an optional for mains exam of Civil Services exam. Stream selected in 10+2 has hardly any effect on this exam. Your interest in any matters and you can do well in any particular subject only when you like studying that subject. |
