NSTSE stands for National Level Science Talent Search Examination. NSTSE examination is conducted by Unified Council. Students of classes II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI(PCM), XI(PCB), XII(PCM), XII(PCB) are eligible to appear for this examination.

NSTSE Syllabus for Class V :-
Mathematics :-
1. Large Numbers
2. Factors and Multiples
3. Fractions
4. Decimals
5. Arithmetic
6. Geometry
7. Mensuration
8. Measurement
9. Data Handling

General Science :-
1. Plant life
2. Animal life
3. Human Body (Nervous system, Bones and Muscles)
4. The Human Body (Food and Health)
5. Soil, Rocks and Minerals
6. Air, Water and Weather
7. The Moon
8. Matter
9. Force, Work and Energy
10. Safety and First Aid

Examination Pattern :-
All the questions in NSTSE examination are of objective-type with no negative marking for wrong answers from the following sections :-
--> Mathematics : 45 marks
--> General Science : 45 marks
--> General Questions : 10 marks
