Civil Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission, often referred as UPSC. The examination is conducted once a year and the notification is published in India's major newspapers including Employment News as well as on the official website of commission.

To write the examination, candidates holding a bachelors degree in any discipline are considered eligible provided she/he is between 21-30 years. The maximum age limit is relaxed upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for Sc/St category.

Once the notification is published, candidates willing to write the exam may register online through www.upsconline.nic.in
