The eligibility criteria for civil services exam conducted for the recruitment of IAS is as follows: Age -i. A candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. ii. The upper age limit is relax able for certain category of candidates like SC/ST/OBC etc. Educational qualification - Candidate must hold a bachelors degree in any discipline obtained from a recognized university. The application forms of CSE are available in designated post office. |

here are the eligibility criteria for IAS exam Only Indian nationals are eligible for IAS and IPS. You can give your IAS exam after completing your graduation course.You need to complete your graduation course for giving CSAT examination conducted by the UPSC board.There is no minimum marks criteria you need for CSAT examination.
You can get the information about the notifications and all in the following link http://www.upsc.gov.in A candidate must have attained 21 years and not more than 30 years to be eligible for the exam.The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved category candidates of SC/ST/OBC background. all the best |

Eligibility Criteria of IAS exam.
Age limits : 21-30 years. The candidate must possess a degree from an Indian University or an educational institution deemed as a University or possess an equivalent qualification. Those in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination. The candidate must have attained 21 years of age on August 1st of the year of examination and must not have attained 30 years of age on that date. The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The candidates applying for the IAS exam have to have a degree from a recognized university. Those in their final years can also appear in the exam. The age of the candidate should be above 21 years and must not be above than 30 years. There is 5 year age relaxation for SC and ST and 3 year for OBC candidates.

The basic criterion to appear in the IAS exam is to have a graduation. Candidates from any field can apply for the exam. Each candidate must be below 30 years of age as to appear in the exam. Candidates from reservation category will get few more years as to appear in the exam. The form for IAS exam is available from different post office. Civil Services (Prel) Exam, 2011: Date of Notification: 19.02.2011 Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 21.03.2011 Date of Exam: 12.06.2011 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Educational Qualifications for IAS : Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs. Dear,
Information regarding the IAS examination:- 1.) The minimum educational qualification required is to be a graduate in any field. 2.) Age limitation is between 21-30 years with 5 year relaxation for the SC/ST candidate and 3 years relaxation for the OBC. 3.) In order to sit for the mains paper , you need to clear the CSAT conducted by the UPSC. 4.) General categories get 4 and reserved categories get 7 attempts to clear the exam.
