As you have done your higher secondary in the commerce stream, there are lots of option open for you. Before you consider any particular course for your higher studies, you must be very clear about your interest, strengths and weaknesses.

Now, if you have a deep interest in accounting and finance, you may pursue a very specialized financial accounting course or you may even go for Chartered Accountancy . Now a days, you may specialize in particular area like insurance and banking as well as finance even in the bachelors level. There are many institutes in India which are now offering specialized courses in these areas as B.Com program, which is quite different than that of the traditional B.com program.

Apart from this, if you want to make your career in management, you should go for BBA instead of B.Com or any other such programs. A bachelors degree in business administration is now a days preferred by various companies for recruitment of fresh graduates for administrative work, compared to a B.Com degree holder.

But in order to have a successful career in management, BBA must be followed by MBA and the same applies to B.Com. Candidates, just having a bachelors degree in Commerce won't be able to have a great career until and unless it is complemented by higher education in the field of accounting including professional courses like chartered accountancy, Cost and work accountancy etc.
