Civil Services Examination is the most prestigious examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various All India Services including I.A.S. , I.P.S., I.F.S.,I.R.S., and various Group A Services and Group B Services.

Normally applications are invited by UPSC notifications in leading News Papers during December every year.

The Civil Services Examination consists of three stages.

* Civil Services Preliminary Examination ( Objective Type) (Usually
conducted in May)
* Civil Services Main Examination (Written) (Conducted during
October/November)
* Interview and final Selection (During April/May)

How to Prepare ::

* Make your English (spoken and written) very clear, clean and fluent.
* Must have to know about the - Indian Polity and governance -

etc.
* you have to know also : Economic and social development - sustainable
development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives
etc.
* General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate
change-that do not require subject specialization.
* General science.
* Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
* Decision making and problem solving
* General mental ability.

hello friend,
in order to prepare for ias you need to apply for upsc exams.and you also must be graduate with minimum of 65% in recognized university.and also nationality indian.you better go for coachg if you want to score good in ias while doing btech course.

How To Prepare For IAS

A candidate appearing for the IAS must fulfill the following eligibility conditions :-

For preparation for the IAS here are some basic tips:

1.Read newspaper daily and write down the important notes from it.
2.Prepare your aptitude from good books and rs agggarwal is one for it.
3.Study some good gk books.
4.Study ncert books from class 6th till 10th for geography,history,science etc.
5.Study good books for indian economy etc also.
6.work hard .
7.Never skip your studies.

For the optionals you can choose any it depends on your level that in which subject you are comfortable at and you can score well...

being in 2nd year engineering is the best time to get into preparation.

It is the right time to start your preparation
you have more than 2 year with you, you would be able to prepare well and would get ample time for revision
You can join any good coaching classes in your area.
Make sure apart from coaching you need to give atleast 2 hours atleast for study
