How to prepare for IAS while doing B.Tech course?
sir,i am doing my btech,ece,2nd year student.want to prepare for ias in parallel to btech course.how to start preparation for ias?please,suggest me books for general studies.which optional subject can i opt.

Civil Services Examination is the most prestigious examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various All India Services including I.A.S. , I.P.S., I.F.S.,I.R.S., and various Group A Services and Group B Services. Normally applications are invited by UPSC notifications in leading News Papers during December every year. The Civil Services Examination consists of three stages. * Civil Services Preliminary Examination ( Objective Type) (Usually conducted in May) * Civil Services Main Examination (Written) (Conducted during October/November) * Interview and final Selection (During April/May) How to Prepare :: Here I have mentioned some points. Please read it very carefully : * know all about the current events of national and international importance. * History of India and Indian national movement. * Constitution of India. * Make your English (spoken and written) very clear, clean and fluent. * Must have to know about the - Indian Polity and governance - constitution, political system, panchayatiraj, public policy, Rights issues, etc. * you have to know also : Economic and social development - sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. * General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that do not require subject specialization. * General science. * Logical reasoning and analytical ability. * Decision making and problem solving * General mental ability. IAS(Indian Administrative Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) only one time in a year. Eligibility criteria:- You should be complete graduation or an bachelor's degree from a recognised university. The candidate must be a citizen of india. Final year persuing candidates can also be eligible for this exam. There is no required percentage to appear this exam. Age criteria:- For General candidates 21 years to 30years, For OBC candidates 21 years to 33years, For SC/ST candidates 21 years to 35 years. For PH OBC candidates 21 years to 40years. I am student persuing my b tech first year.I have taken chemistry and Indian History my subjects for IAS exam.I study 3 hours on a day for IAs.I want to know that is this much time is suficent for IAS.

being in 2nd year engineering is the best time to get into preparation. It is the right time to start your preparation you have more than 2 year with you, you would be able to prepare well and would get ample time for revision You can join any good coaching classes in your area. Make sure apart from coaching you need to give atleast 2 hours atleast for study All the best |
