LIC Insurance Agent -How to become an LIC Insurance Agent?
The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India is one of the biggest insurance agencies in our country. It is affiliated to the Indian Government. The person who introduces to the company and its policies to us is called an insurance agent. A LIC agent is someone who knows details about the policies and their natures. Whenever there is a vacancy for an agent, candidates can apply for that post. If the eligibility norms are fulfilled, they are called for interviews.
There are many Insurance companies all over India. The details on how to become an LIC agent are given below:
Qualifying exam
IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority) conducts the entrance exam. Once the candidates have passed the examination, they will be given the license to work as an LIC agent.
Who is eligible to apply?
Candidates who are applying for the post must be Indian citizens. They must be atleast 18 years of age at the time of applying. Those candidates who have passed their class 10+2 exams are eligible to apply for the post. Candidates should contact the officer of the nearest LIC branch. They shall then be directed to the divisional agency where they will be given training about the policies of the LIC, their plans, aims, etc.
How to prepare for the exam and interview?
One of the qualities the aspirants needs to become a successful insurance agents is that, they should be outgoing. They must meet and talk with different people. Since being an insurance agent means communicating with many individuals, be it with a company or be it with a single person, the candidates must ensure that they attract the client and make them take a policy. Candidates must always regard the clients seriously. The LIC take in people who are self motivated and are good at communicating because, this is the best way to draw people.

Eligibility for LIC Agent:
Minimum Educational Qualification: SSC(10th Pass) for Rural Area* and HSC (12th Pass for Urban Area)
Rural area = where the population is less than 5000 (five thousand)
