National Level Science Talent Search Examination is a high quality challenging examination which is aimed at providing valuable reports about school students. Second standard students to Higher Secondary students are eligible to apply for this exam. Questions will be in multiple choice objective type format.

Eligibility Criterion

The examination is conducted for students who are studying from II standard to Higher secondary level. There will be no exam for candidates who are studying Biology  inscience stream in higher secondary course. Candidates who are studying ICSE or other state syllabus are eligible to apply for this exam.

Exam Pattern

The examination will be based on syllabus prescribed by Central Board of Secondary Education. There will be different set of question papers for each class. Aspirants can expect multiple choice objective type questions in the examination. Those who are studying in class II will have to answer 50 questions. Of these 25 questions will be asked from mathematics and remaining 25 questions will be asked from General science. Each question carries one mark.

For III standard, there will be a total of 75 questions. Of these, 40 questions will be asked from mathematics and 35 questions from general science. Maximum marks allotted for the entire test is 75.

Candidates who are studying from 4th standard to 12th have to answer question booklets containing 100 questions. In this, for candidates from standard IV to V, there will be 45 questions each from mathematics and science. Remaining 10 questions will be asked from general knowledge.

Candidates from class VI to X will have to answer 25 questions from mathematics 25 questions from physics, 20 questions from chemistry and biology and 10 more questions from general topics.

Candidates who are pursuing higher secondary education in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and mathematics will have to answer 40 questions from mathematics, 50 questions from Physics and Chemistry and 10 questions from general topics. Those who are studying in Biology stream in HSC are required to answer 40 questions from Biology, 25 questions from Chemistry and 25 questions from Physics and 10 general questions.

The maximum time given for answering whole questions for all classes is 90 minutes. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer.

Application Procedure

Eligible candidates who wish to appear for this examination should apply in the printed registration form. In addition to this, application form can be downloaded from the official website of the council. They will have to pay Rs. 200/- as examination fee. Fee payment can be done  by taking a demand draft in favor of “Unified Council payable at Hyderabad”. Apart from this, application fee can be remitted by using debit/ credit cards. Duly filled in application form and details of fee payment should be sent to “Unified Council, #16-11-16/1/B, Saleeem Nagar, Malakpet, Hyderabad-500036.
