Punjab Gramin Bank was established on 12 September 2005 under the Government of India. The bank was established as a result of the amalgation of the three erstwhile Regional Rural Bank of Punjab. The bank was established as a pioneer institution. The main idea behind the foundation of the bank was to play a major role in the upliftment of Punjab. The bank is a sponsered institute which comes under Punjab National Bank, a leading bank of the country. Mr. A. C. Sehgal is the current chairman of the bank.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible candidates (only Indian Citizens) for the posts of Officer Junior Management Scale-I Group ‘A’ and Office Assistants Group ‘B’ in Punjab Gramin Bank. Candidates who are domicile of Punjab are also invited to apply for the above specified positions in Punjab Gramin Bank.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to be either a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan etc. Candidates’s age must be above 18 years and also not more than 28 years of age as on 1 Macrh 2011. SC/ST candidates will get relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit set for the post. OBC category candidates will also get relaxation of few years (exactly 3 years) in the upper age limit set for both the posts in Punjab Gramin Bank.

Educational Qualification:

Officer Junior Management Scale-I: Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university in any discipline or its equivalent. Proficiency in Punjabi language is must. Candidates should also have adequate knowledge of computer applications. However, preference will be given to the candidates possessing degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Economics, Information Technology etc.

Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university in any discipline or its equivalent. Proficiency in Punjabi language is must. Candidates are also required to have adequate knowledge of computer applications.

No. of posts:

Officer Junior Management Scale-I: 37 posts. (Gen-20, SC-4, ST-3 and OBC-10).
Office Assistant (Multipurpose): 60 posts. (Gen-35, SC-17 and OBC-8).

Pay Scale:

Officer Junior Management Scale-I: Consolidated salary of Rs. 14500-25700 per month.
Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Consolidated salary of Rs. 7200-19300 per month.

Application Fee:

The payment of the requisite application fee must be done through the payment challan available at bank website. The application fee for the General and OBC categories candidates is Rs. 400 while the application fee for SC/ST/PWD/Ex.SM is Rs. 75 only. Candidates should download the challan from webiste of Punjab Gramin Bank. The payment must be done in cash only at any Punjab National Bank or Punjab Gramin Bank.

Selection Committee:

The selection procedure for both the posts in Punjab Gramin Bank includes a written examinaition and a personal interview test. Only eligible candidates or applicants will be called for the written test. After then the candidates will be called for the interview test accordingly to the merit list prepared by bank.
