Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Professor, will come under the pay brand of Rs.37400-67000+AGP of Rs.10500 with a minimum of Rs.51600+NPA.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification: Candidates must possess medical qualification that is included in Schedule I or II or Part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. A postgraduate qualification (i.e.) MS or MD or a recognized qualification equivalent to that or DM in respective discipline or subject for medical super-specialties and M. Ch in respective subject or discipline or any other equivalent qualification.

Experience: candidates must possess twelve years research or teaching experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty after getting the qualifying degree of DM or M. Ch after MBBS in the appropriate discipline or subject or a qualification approved thereto or eleven years experience in research or teaching in a recognized institution.

Age: The upper age limit to apply for the position of professor is 58 years on the closing date of application.

Mode of selection:

The institute will conduct interview for selection of candidates for the position of professor and the date of interview will be intimated to the short-listed candidates later.

Application fee:

Cost of Application of Rs.500 for general and OBC candidates and Rs.250 for SC/ST candidates should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favor of the Accounts Officer, JIPMER payable at SBI, JIPMER Branch, Pondicherry. PH candidates need not pay any application fee.
